I mostly have work to blame for my 10 month absence. I’ve been working a lot. To the point where I’m so out of shape that running two miles is a Herculean task. But it’s like Thom Yorke says :”you do it to yourself”. So now I begin the task of undoing it to myself… and that’s what really hurts.
The above pic is one on my home studio. I took most of yesterday to acquaint myself with the wonders of GarageBand…wow, great stuff. The fruit of my first attempt:
Not a finished product, not fantastic, but kinda cool for a couple of hours of messing around.

First of all, what are you or your firewall doing in Atlanta?
Second, the bat survived.
(As you must already know) I think that it was insanely cool. It was made less cool by the fact that Manu now has to assume that he might have rabies and as such must undergo the required treatment. The bat was asking for it much in the same way that drunken dudes are asking for it when they go on a football field during play.
As to PETA’s objections:
I’m not for clubbing babies that walk onto the court (some have made the argument that beating a child and bat are equivalent). I’m not even for clubbing baby seals that hang out on beaches. I’m a realist though and sometimes animals – especially the sort that can harm people – need to be restrained and removed. Sometimes that involves killing/hurting an animal and that’s a shame, but it’s just the way it is.
A basketball game isn’t more important than the life of a bat, but the lives of the fans and players are.
What if the bat had been rabid and what if it had bitten and infected a child sitting courtside? Would PETA have issued a press release about how the 4 ounce bat was well within it’s rights as a sentient being? Would PETA have criticized the bat for attacking a more defenseless being?
No, they wouldn’t because it’s just a stupid bat.

On to other matters, the running is going well but the conditioning is hard to come by. Sometimes I feel great and sometimes I don’t. Either way, I am doing a better job of sticking to a routine and I’m sure that it’ll pay dividends at some point.
Musical highlight of the latest run:
Bonus musical highlight (if you ever get a chance to catch this guy live, do it. In a word: Compelling):
Movie Tip: If you like or think you might hate either Jack Nicholson or Randy Quaid, watch 1973′s The last detail. I think that it’ll confirm your suspicions or completely change your mind. Either way, you’ll be entertained for 103 minutes.
